I'm feeling rejuvinated after spending Christmas vacation with my family in the Riviera Maya.
The weather was gorgeous and the time with my husband and children was priceless. Although I love the hustle and bustle of wedding season, it's always nice to have some time to stop and smell the roses.
And although I didn't find any roses per say, I did find lots of other tropical floral gems. I just love the flowers of Mexico and the bold, bright colors they offer.

Humbled. That's how I feel seeing a full page color image of one of my bouquets in the World's #1 Bridal Magazine! Wow - thank you editors for choosing Just Bloomed. We're so glad you like our work!
The bouquet shown in the January 2010 issue of BRIDES Magazine was held by Molly & Dan's flower girl at their September wedding. Special thanks to Jacki V. for snapping this great image.

I'm so excited to have been invited by Rebecca to participate in one of her "Stems of the Season" pieces. Rebecca is the editor of Clover & Bee whose website and blog focus on Midwest brides and grooms and highlight the best vendors from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Ohio and Wisconsin. We just love what she's got going on over there and I'm sure you'll be addicted to her blog just as we are! To see our Stems of the Season piece featured on the C&B blog, click here.
Thanks also Clover & Bee for choosing Just Bloomed to be part of your "best of" guide. We're truly honored!

If you haven't been there before, be sure to book your next romantic get away at Stout's Island. I had the absolute pleasure of designing a September wedding there for a downright marvelous couple! Stout's Lodge is nestled on an island in the middle of Birchwood, WI - a perfect wedding venue for Courtney & Brett!
We used birch wood accents throughout the weekend from containers to candle holders. I loved how the rustic birch worked with the elegance of the orchids.
We hung 40 lanterns the day before the wedding....
Everything for this wedding had to be brought over by ferry. The flowers, the lanterns, the candles, the gift baskets for wedding guests, etc. The first ferry they sent to meet our team wasn't big enough so they had to go back for "Big Green". And once to the island, the only way to get these items up from the boat house was by climbing stairs, or using this pulley. We loved the challenge!
Guests left at the end of the weekend with a lantern and a well wish from the couple.
Thanks for allowing Just Bloomed to be a part of your weekend Courtney & Brett!
And special thanks also to Shelly Mosman for capturing the occasion with such beautiful photography.

Erin was one of my recent "inspiration board" brides. She had great photos of colors and textures she incorporated into a single sheet of paper for me. What fun I had translating her vision into flowers!
Special thanks to Spencer Combs for these beautiful images.

Every year around this time, people start asking us about outdoor planters and window boxes. Although Just Bloomed does offer custom outdoor planter and window box designing (call 612-600-9033 for a quote), many of you have the ability to do them yourself but are simply looking for some inspiration to get you started. Here are some fun, non-traditional holiday planters to get your creative juices flowing.
These first two are great transitional fall planters. After Thanksgiving, the pumpkins and orange berries can easily be removed and replaced with red berries, red dogwood, etc.
Have fun with your planters and window boxes and email a photo of your finished product to us!

Monica and Geoff swung in from San Diego for their recent wedding in the Twin Cities. And we welcomed them with oodles of green apples and wheat grass at their Bear Path Country Club reception. Congrats to you both and all our best to you in your married life together.
Special thanks to Amy at Coppersmith Photography for these photos!
